Systems & Ceremony is a practice of intentional event design, development, facilitation, & integration management

This is not normal event planning, because you are NOT planning a normal event.

Hi! I’m Meghan (she/her) Bursiek (Burr-sick)

Founder of Systems & Ceremony

Lover of Details & BIG Ideas

Black and white portrait of Meghan gazing directly into the camera

Over the past 2 decades, I have:

Collaborated on 31 festivals

Directed multiple 6-figure budgets

Managed 15 retreats

Produced over 200 workshops

I’m also facilitator, so I get it.

All you wanna do is show up & do your thing, trusting that all of the details have been taken care of.

With my varied & eclectic background from 20 years of event production – ranging from immersive arts & music festivals to intimate retreats – you can trust your event, & your event guests, are in good hands because there isn’t an event problem I haven’t encountered AND solved.

Focus on what you do best.

I’ll take care of the rest.

From the Mystical to the Logistical

The Divine to the Details

The Vision to the Organization

I help bridge the gap.

I work with facilitators & teams at various stages in their event journey:

Teams who want an event nerd: I collaborate closely with your team ensuring the logistics, operations, & management systems align with your vision.

Facilitators who are OVER DIY'ing: I handle the details, like budget & registration, allowing you to reclaim your time.

Facilitators who want to DIY: I provide strategic guidance to make sure your event flows with ease from start to finish.

Systems & Ceremony

Intentional event design, development, facilitation, & integration management

Including location scouting, itinerary building, & onsite services.

You focus on what you do best:

  • Extending the vision & intention to your community

  • Marketing & messaging your event

  • Developing amazing content & teachings

  • Raising the profile of your event & finding sponsorships

  • Nurturing the relationships with, & between, your event guests

  • Taking care of your needs so you can facilitate rested & resourced

I take care of the rest.

Budget, Registration, Communication, & Logistical details, including:

  • Identifying what your event is actually going to cost & what you’re going to make BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS

  • Designing the registration timeline & creating non-predatory, accessible payment plans

  • Managing backend systems that support a seamless guest experience, from intake forms to arrival coordination

  • Ensuring rooming assignments, dietary needs, & accessibility requests are met with care

  • Responding to guest inquiries & managing event emails in a tone & rhythm that matches your brand

  • Creating centralized systems for updates, decisions, & timelines to reduce crossed wires & duplicated work

  • Translating creative vision into operational systems that help cross-functional teams collaborate effectively

I also shine when we’re onsite, both BOH & FOH.

Before your event, I visit the site (or complete in-depth online research) to get a feel for what’s possible, what needs to be addressed, & how the space itself can shape the guest experience.

I treat the event space & surrounding land as a collaborator. I uncover site-specific opportunities that emphasize your event’s theme, support vendor decision-making, & inform layout planning with intention.

Once onsite, I focus on tasks such as:

  • Coordinating guest arrivals, VIP logistics, staff transport, & shuttle timing

  • Preparing personalized welcome kits for your guests, co-facilitators, or team leads

  • Maintaining the event flow & timeline, ensuring sessions start on-time & space transitions are smooth

  • Being present for your guests between sessions so facilitators & teams can take breaks & recalibrate

  • Overseeing vendor relationships, crew dynamics, & staff briefings so the experience is cohesive backstage & onstage

  • Supporting team leads & collaborators so they can focus on implementation instead of troubleshooting

  • Facilitating opening & closing rituals or key moments that help set the tone & leave a lasting impression

After your event, I guide a collaborative debrief that anchors the experience & supports integration. Together, we:

  • Reflect on what worked, what stretched, & what wants to shift

  • Review final costs with an eye toward sustainability & increased profit

  • Gather & organize participant feedback to deepen trust & responsiveness

  • Distill learnings (& un-learnings) that inform your next iteration — whether it’s with me or with your team

Event design, production, & management ripples out to your guests’ experience:

  • If your event intention is to facilitate rejuvenation & relaxation yet the organizers are hustling… your guests will pick up on the vibes

  • If your event is dedicated to environmental justice yet catering serves beverages with plastic straws… your guests will question your authenticity

  • If your event is marketed as inclusive yet there are no gender neutral bathrooms… your guests will notice the inconsistency

This is why Systems & Ceremony is intentional through each phase of the Event Creation Cycle.

How we design, develop, AND integrate an event is just as important as the facilitated experience.

"Meghan is an absolute gem. While working with her I feel completely seen, heard, and understood on both a personal and professional level.

I feel she truly cares about her clients, and her experience within the yoga world alongside with her own dedicated personal yoga practice shines through in her work.

I appreciate her remarkable organizational skills (it's hard for me to keep track of all the details) and her sense of humor."

–Alix Northup, Yoga & Massage for Backcare

“I have worked with Meghan in many capacities and on many projects and events. She has this rare ability to toggle seamlessly between big-picture visioning and the tiny, crucial details that make things actually happen—something I deeply admire and have witnessed firsthand.

She doesn’t just manage projects; she orchestrates them. Meghan brings clarity to chaos, aligning people, priorities, and processes with an effortless grace that makes the complex feel doable. But what sets her apart is that she’s not just the person who executes—she’s also in the room, shaping the vision from the start. She asks the right questions, refines ideas, and ensures that what gets built is not only effective but meaningful.

If you’re looking for someone who can see both the forest and the trees, who brings both creativity and execution, who makes things happen while making them matter—Meghan is that person. And you’d be lucky to work with her.”

–Sara Grant, Creative Storyteller & Marketing Strategist

“Meghan is an invaluable resource when it comes to helping manage a business or a business endeavor.

She's detail-oriented, creative, really personable and trustworthy.

I feel so fortunate to have worked with her!

–Kate Busby LAc SEP, Embodied Trauma Healing

“Meghan has all the attributes you want in a coordinator.

She is easy to work with, trustworthy and responsive and she will ask you the right questions to make you consider the details you may have overlooked.

For example, she came up with the idea to turn my event from a one day workshop to two which was so smart and savvy. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat.”

–Kris Olson, Yoga & Movement Teacher

“I had the great pleasure of working with Meghan at multiple art and music festivals, most often as a box office team member under her management. Being a part of a Meghan team means you are 1) entering a positive and welcoming environment, 2) well prepared for your role and responsibilities, and 3) will be reliably led through any uncertainty.

Meghan has brilliant organizational, logistic, and communication skills. In all my experiences, she proactively helped us identify areas for efficiency and worked with our team to refine our process on the spot. Her commitment to us had a clear impact on our capacity to provide a smooth check-in experience for all staff and attendees.

Additionally, at the end of each event, Meghan always made time for our team to reflect together and help us make progress for next time. Her ability to keep us connected off site is one of the things that makes working with Meghan special.

I would highly recommend Meghan to anyone looking for an event planner who combines operational expertise with genuine care for her team. Her approach fosters a collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels valued and supported, and I have no doubt that anyone would benefit from her guidance.”

–Gayle Roughton, Sr. Business Systems Analyst

She is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and approaches her work with genuine passion. I highly recommend Meghan as an event producer and creator.”
